She focuses on exploring various aspects of transmitting and manifesting real time environmental and biological data and seek to facilitate an agency for sources of that data. That way she attempts to give a beginning to a dialogue between viewers and the source or entity from which the data originates, so that the representation of that data becomes a language of that source.
She does that by creating interactive and immersive visual and spatial experiences and narratives, often using Open Source and Hardware technologies and techniques, bespokely created electronics, user interfaces and code, but also playing with visuals, animations, film, photography or sometimes hand-drawn objects
She has exhibited among others: FILE Festival 2013 (Sao Paulo, BR), Victoria & Albert Museum, Ars Electronica 2012 (Linz, Austria), TRANSNATURAL (NL), Meta.Morf (NO), ISEA (Istanbul, Turkey), Translife Media Arts Triennial (Beijing, China), MIS (Sao Paulo, BR), Dutch Design Week (NL), MOMA (NY). She has received many international awards, nominations and accolades, such as Wellcome Trust Award for her work on issues concerned with climate change and health of population, Ars Electronica 2012 Honorary Mention in a category of Hybrid Arts for “Protei” and “Oil Compass”, Clear Channel Award for “Floresta” – work made for urban screens or Arts Council for “Mirror of Infinity”. She was featured in on and off-line magazines and TV Programmes, most notably Huffington Post, The Guardian, Wired, Dutch Technology Review and BBC.
Prior to co-founding World Wilder Lab Collective (www.worldwilderlab.net), Kasia was a founding member of Protei Collective. She holds MA in Interdisciplinary Design Studies (Central Saint Martin College of Arts and Design), previously studying Art and Animation (Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland). She is a regular visiting lecturer at Brunel University, consultant for the Interactive Architecture Department In Bartletts School of Architecure and Principle of Design and Innovation Faculty in Malaysia Limkokwing University of Creative Technologies. She also taught in Federal University Rio De Janeiro, University of Creative Arts in London and University of Greenwich. For many years she worked as a freelance Interactive Art Director and UX Designer for top advertising and design agencies. She presents at conferences and publish papers regularly.
