“Organic Cinema” exhibited in V&A Museum in London
“Organic Cinema” was on display during the Digital Weekend (part of London Design Week Festival) at the prestigious Victoria & Albert Museum in London. For this particular display we prepared an aquarium filled up with the water from Hyde Park Pond (full of very versatile microbes, so different to that from Rotterdam canal outside our studio). We also introduced a new plant alongside Pistia – a Water Soldier. This beautiful spiky thing is well known to be able to detect CO2 in the water and according to its level, the plant either likes to immerse itself in the water or float on the surface. From what we could observe the CO2 in the Hyde Park water is quite low, as our Water Soldier tried to go deeply in it. Pisita is well knows from sucking oxygen from the water, and that was visible at the end of the day, as a number of living microbes got much smaller.
Exhibited: from 21st of September, 2013, V&A Musuem, Cromwell Road, London.
