The three of us have arrived to the beautiful city of Madrid to 1) check out on the Media Lab Prado – its facade and its garden – where our “Organic Cinema” will be installed as a permanent display; 2) to run a collaborative workshop in attempt to solve certain issues which we encounter while working and building our device (which yet has to be given a name); and 3) to eat tapas of course (that is an added bonus of being here)
We were given a tour around Media Lab Prado by Patricia Larrondo. We finally were able to appreciate the scale of their digital facade. Although the resolution is small as each pixel looks like a gigantic light-bulb, the configuration of it is very interesting and we are looking forward to test it later in the week.
We also were given tour of the garden where our devices for “Organic Cinema” will be placed. The garden consists of big portion of ferns – which has been one of the chosen plants from us to work, a central fruit tree and few other amazingly looking species – yet to be identify. Media Lab Prado people filmed interview with us in there – to be available online soon.
We have received around 28 submissions for the participation in our workshop from all sorts of enthusiasts, makers, engineers and such. So we hope that if we put all our brain together – we will overcome our device problems.
